ok so i only have... oh... three minutes now until my time runs out
in answer to the lovely Koh's questions:
"i have so many questions for you! did you get you bags in the end? did you end up going to the bar? what's the weather like there? what are your plans for the next few days? is internet easy to come by? is everything expensive over there? are people very friendly? how's your leg/back? etc etc"
yup, are bags were here when we woke up the next morning
nope, fell asleep super early
weather is always crazy sunny and then mad "subtropical downpours" for like seventeen seconds about five times a day
goin to Pahia tomorrow for a while... still don't have a place to stay there... oh well
so far in auckland, yes... not so sure about pahia
kindof... especially coffee... starbucks is like twice the price
people are crazy friendly
leg and back are ok.. not great... ok
one minute to go

PEE ESS
i forgot to mention:
the toilets here have two buttons on them
no flusher leaver, just these two buttons
and generally, one of the has a full circle on it, and the other has just a half circle
and as far as i can tell, the both do EXACTLY the same thing: flush
thoughts, anyone?

DAY THREE
day three is coming to a close
day one consisted of the longest plane ride ever, the airlines not giving us our bags at the end of it, a bus ride where i tried so hard to stay awake because THERE ARE PALM TREES HERE (why didn't anybody mention this to me??? SO COOL), a strange new hostel full of strange new people, me driving on the wrong side of the road for the first time and getting honked at in a huge way, us almost buying a car from a friendly canadian guy and his japanese friend "Yoda", and then both of us finally collapsing at 6pm and sleeping for hours and hours
day two was us turning down Yoda's car, and then doing all kinds of touristy things - such as the sky tower, reading in the park, taking pictures of everything, going out for dinner, then going to bed early
day three is today
and today we went to davenport and i got a little tiny sunburn and i napped on the beach and read my book and we wandered around a lot and hiked/walked up this hill that turned out to not be quite as cool as it ought to have been considering the pain in the ass that was walking up it, and now we are just trying really hard to get up the courage to go out to a pub after dinner.... we'll see... high probability of chickening out
and so far i think i like it here
i'm horribly homesick, as always
and that sucks alot
like, that sucks so much i can's even describe how much that sucks
but this too shall pass
so anyways
i basically have nothing interesting to say
i need a shower
yup, that's it
peace out gees

OHMEE OHMY
it's sunday
that's right. sunday.
we leave on tuesday.
yup... that's tomorrow's tomorrow.
holy moly.
i'm in vancouver now, hangin out at jan's
rolling around on the floor doing my special back excercises every 2.5hours when my watch beeps
...cept for sometimes when it beeps in public places
shouts out to ewin - thanks so much for the floor and the most awesome thermarest in existance
and to anna and erika too - the ummm... "hide-a-bed"/plywood couch was surprisingly lovely
mim and i booked our accomodation (i feel like the word "accomodation" should always be written in "these"... just cause in my head it's said with a Homestar accent) at "base Backpackers" in Auckland for our first four nights in NZ
it looks like a pretty cool place...apparently.... it's pretty central and big, so it should be good for establishing ourselves during our first few jet-lag-culture-shocked-what-the-eff-is-going-on-and-where-is-the-skippy days
(or is NZ exactly like here? i quite obviously have no clue... perhaps there will be no culture shock... hopefully they have chunky skippy PB... maybe i should take some just incase... dilemmas dilemmas)
anyways
that's it for now
y'all must let me know your addresses cause i'm pretty stoked to dish out the postcards in the coming months
have a good 'un

MY FAVOURITE THINGS
hello everybody
and welcome to my travel blog
please excuse the EXTREME risquéness/grammatical incorrectness of the title
i am just really into the whole rhyming thing these days
you might wanna note that due to hilariously horrible incidents which happend because of my mindless blogging in the fall, i won't be using ANYBODY'S real name or putting down anything too specific about anything
so if you are some random stalker reading this, don't bother
annonymity is my second favourite thing right now, after rhyming
so anyways
this is where i am gonna write all about my trip... theorhetically
and you can read it as often or as little as you like
and you can post comments or just email me about anything
hopefully i'll be able to access the internet sometimes
but maybe not a lot
which is ok too
i don't wanna be dependent on it
but, ya know, i'm definetly not willing to quit cold-turkey
so anyways
right now i have nothing too interesting to say
i am in victoria
in ewin's room
livin it up
(and by "livin it up", i mean that i'm gonna have a nap as soon as i am done writing this) (napping is my third favourite thing)
anyways
i have nothing interesting to say now
check back later
